Infocreatives Founder Er. Saumyaranjan Mishra Puts Mayurbhanj on India’s IT Map
From humble beginnings to leading Mayurbhanj's first recognized IT startup, Er. Mishra is inspiring a new generation of innovators.

In Odisha’s tribal heartland of Mayurbhanj, a silent revolution is underway — led by Er. Saumyaranjan Mishra, the visionary founder of Infocreatives. From humble beginnings with no family history in business, Er. Mishra has risen to become a symbol of innovation, community leadership, and entrepreneurial success.
Infocreatives: A Vision Comes Alive-
Established in 2017, Infocreatives quickly earned recognition as Mayurbhanj’s first-ever IT company to be officially acknowledged by StartUp India and Startup Odisha. Focused on E-Governance and E-Commerce solutions, the company’s early projects included developing E-Commerce platforms for the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) under ORMAS across four districts — Angul, Balasore, Kalahandi, and Mayurbhanj.
These platforms helped rural producers and artisans access larger markets, promoting digital inclusion at the grassroots level. For a region often marginalized in discussions of technology and entrepreneurship, Infocreatives marked a historic step forward.
Scaling New Heights-
Building on its initial success, Infocreatives expanded its portfolio by securing projects with DRDA, ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency), and DTET (Directorate of Technical Education and Training), focusing on delivering technology-driven solutions for governance and rural empowerment.
Today, Infocreatives proudly serves around 90 clients across India, with nearly 75% of them being government agencies. Its client list and project impact highlight the growing acceptance of startups from smaller districts competing on a national scale.
Pioneering Achievements-
Infocreatives' journey reached a significant milestone recently when it became the first IT company from Mayurbhanj to achieve membership in NASSCOM, India’s premier IT industry body. This recognition placed the company among the top league of tech innovators and opened doors for larger conversations at the state level.
Following this achievement, Er. Mishra was invited to an interactive session with the Hon'ble IT Minister of Odisha, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, to discuss the upcoming IT (Draft) Policy of Odisha. His participation represented the voice of emerging entrepreneurs from semi-urban and rural backgrounds, offering fresh perspectives to Odisha’s digital policy framework.
Mentoring the Future-
Apart from his business success, Er. Mishra is deeply committed to nurturing young entrepreneurs. As the honorary CEO of the MSCBU (Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University) Incubation Centre, he has played a pivotal role in fostering a startup culture in Mayurbhanj.
Under his leadership, two student research scholars from MSCBU won grants of ₹3 lakh each during the prestigious Startup Utsavv 2024 held in Bhubaneswar, showcasing the hidden talent of the region on a state platform.
He also mentors students of the Government Polytechnic, Mayurbhanj, who participated in the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave earlier this year under his guidance. His hands-on mentorship has created a wave of aspiration among students, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
An Unfolding Legacy-
What makes Er. Saumyaranjan Mishra’s journey particularly remarkable is the context — a middle-class upbringing in one of Odisha’s most tribal and underserved districts, far from the traditional startup hubs. With no inherited business legacy, Er. Mishra charted his own course through sheer vision, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to community development.
His success proves that location and background are no longer barriers to entrepreneurial dreams. Instead, with the right intent and perseverance, small-town innovators can create ripples on the national stage.
The Road Ahead-
Looking forward, Er. Mishra aims to further scale Infocreatives, expanding into new sectors and geographies while deepening its impact on rural digitization. He envisions building more incubation centres, supporting grassroots innovators, and bridging the technology gap between India’s urban and rural areas.
His belief is simple yet powerful: "The next wave of Indian innovation will emerge from its villages and small towns. Our role is to nurture and accelerate it."
Conclusion
In an age where startups often emerge from glittering metros, Er. Saumyaranjan Mishra stands as a reminder that true innovation knows no geography. His journey from Mayurbhanj to national recognition is not just a story of personal triumph but a beacon for thousands of young dreamers in rural India.
As he continues to break barriers, mentor new talent, and shape the future of digital governance, Er. Mishra is crafting a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
